AFTER a round win in this year’s Australian Professional Rodeo Association National Finals, Natone cowgirl Danielle Marshall is one of the favourite for the Carrick Rodeo and Bull Ride on Saturday. (January 14).
She won round 3 of Breakaway Roping in this year’s finals in Warwick (Qld) with a time of 4.05 seconds. Marshall is one of eight nominations for the event at Carrick and will also compete in Team Roping.
There are 104 nominations for the rodeo and Bull Ride, including 23 for the Barrel Race and 16 in the Bull Rides.
Penguin rider Ty King will be one of the busiest cowboys at the rodeo as he has nominated for four events, Saddle Bronc, Rope and Tie, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping. It is rare for a cowboy to compete in more than three events on one program.
Luke Hamilton hails from Natone and will be one of the favourites in his three events, Rope and Tie, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.
Carrick Rodeo and Bull Ride will be at Quercus Park, Oaks Rd, Carrick and performance will start at 6pm.
Rodeo stock for the rough and timed events at Carrick are being provided by Mick Wylie, Luke Hamilton and Brian Fish.
The rodeo is for APRA Championship Points so riders can boost their chances of a top-15 finish and qualification for this year’s National Finals with a place at Carrick.
Later this month, there are two more rodeos in Tasmania, Harveydale on January 26 and the Ulverstone Twilight Rodeo on January 28.
