Rodeo action in Qld and NSW this weekend

AUSTRALIAN Professional Rodeo Association action will be at Kooralbyn in Queensland and Narrabri in New South Wales this weekend.

The first action of the weekend will be on Friday night at the Narrabri Show Rodeo.

There will be open and second-division Bull Rides and an open Saddle Bronc ride at the show rodeo at Narrabri on Friday starting from 6:30pm at the Narrabri Showgrounds.

Two of the competitors to watch will be Toowoomba Bull Rider Ben Palmer and Warwick Saddle Bronc rider Lane Grayson.

Grayson competed in North America last year before returning home to contest the APRA National Finals at the Warwick Rodeo.

All APRA Championship events will be contested at Kooralbyn in Queensland on Saturday.

The Kooralbyn Rodeo will be held at Ogilvie Place, Kooralbyn and action will start from 4pm.

Current APRA Bareback Champion David Worsfold, of Wandoan  will compete at Kooralbyn in the Open Bareback. His toughest opposition will come from Leongatha rider Ben Hall who qualified for last year’s National Finals.

Warwick rider Mitch Eastwell will compete in the Rope and Tie who won one round of the National Finals last year.

In Steer Wrestling, the favourites to watch will be Caboolture brothers Lachlan and Jordan O’Neill who are regularly in the top-15 in the APRA.

Warwick rider Lane Grayson is in the Saddle Bronc and will start favourite at Kooralbyn.

Current APRA All Around Cowgirl titleholder Shianne O’Donoghue-Kent from Bunyip in Victoria will compete in cowgirl events at Kooralbyn alongside fellow Victorian Elley Hulls from Leongatha.
