MOUNT ISA MINES RODEO GOES VIRTUAL TO BUCK CORONAVIRUS
In what’s believed to be a world first, the Isa Rodeo will be staged as a ‘virtual rodeo’ to combat the restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The virtual 2020 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo will be broadcast to the world 7-9 August, the event’s scheduled dates pre COVID-19 via our website.
Isa Rodeo will open VIDEO nominations to 19 events, including Open, 2nd Division, Junior and Novelty events in both the rough stock (bull riding, bareback riding, saddlebronc riding) and timed events (steer wrestling, rope and tie, team roping, barrel racing and breakaway roping).
There will be very strict rules which have been adapted to a virtual rodeo (so there will be changes to normal rodeo rules). Competitors - please stay tuned as we will be releasing ALL info on how to nominate.
Nominations will open to Australian and international competitors as it will be via video recordings to win thousands of dollars of prize money and buckles.
