THERE are 208 nominations for an Australian Professional Rodeo Association rodeo at St Arnaud in Victoria on Saturday. (March 18)

There will be action in all eight APRA championship events, including saddle bronc ride, bull ride and bareback bronc rides.

The most nominations are 57 in team roping.

Two of the likely placegetters in timed events are Victorian pair, Terry Evison from Pine Grove, and Lockington cowboy Lee Kimber.

Kimber has been in outstanding form since the start of the Christmas Run on Boxing Day and has moved from ninth into third place in APRA all around cowboy standings for the season which goes to September 30.

Evison and Kimber will compete in team roping, the rope and tie and steer wrestling.

In cowgirl events, current APRA champion Shianne O’Donoghue-Kent, of Bunyip, will compete along with her sister Montana, mother Ruth O’Donoghue and aunt Cherie O’Donoghue.

The rodeo will be held at the St Arnaud Racecourse and starts at 5pm. Tickets are the gate.

After this weekend, the next APRA rodeo in Victoria will be the Corryong Man from Snowy River Rodeo on April 1 and then rodeos at Easter on April 14-17 on successive days at Great Western, Omeo, Buchan and Lang Lang.
