TASMANIAN RODEO ACTION HEADS TO WYNYARD
RIDERS will be aiming to win a trophy saddle when they line up in the Wynyard Rodeo in Tasmania on Saturday. (November 23)
The trophy saddles will be presented to the competitors who win the most money at Saturday’s Wynyard Rodeo and the Lillico Rodeo in Tasmania on February 15.
Riders must compete in two events at each rodeo to be eligible for the trophy saddles for cowboys and cowgirls.
Juniors will vie for a championship buckle which will be presented to the junior with the most prizemoney at the two rodeos.
The new Australian Professional Rodeo Association season started on October 1 and riders have the chance to move into the top 15 early in the season with success at Wynyard.
The top 15 in each of the eight APRA events will qualify for the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals in Queensland in late October next year.
Wynyard will be the third last APRA rodeo for the year in Tasmania.
The final two rodeos are the Deloraine Bulls, Broncs and Barrels Rodeo on December 7 and the Smithton Rodeo and Stockman’s Challenge on December 30-31.
The Wynyard Rodeo on Saturday will be held at 161 Coopers Lane, Wynyard and will start at 4pm.
